Welcoming 2020 in Style

New Years Eve picks

The Drink…

Roederer collaboarted with Philipp Starck to create its first ever zero sugar Champagne; Cuvée Brut Nature was born in 2006 from when Roederer CEO, Frédéric Rouzard and Louis Starck.

Roederer CEO, Frédéric Rouzaud, brought his intuition, the designer developed the idea and the Cellar Master, Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, set the wheels in motion. Their discussions, begun with the first opus, have evolved towards the creation of a second vintage.

This Champagne is one of my favourites. I was introduced to it during an enjoyable afternoon by the House of Roederer in Wildegg. It tastes so clean and not one bit sweet as it has zero dosage. Dosage is the (fruit) sugar that is added during the Champange making process in order to complement exiting flavours. Brut nature, or zero dosage means no sugar was added and there is only the tiniest residual of natual sugar in your bottle. This means, all my sexy keto and low carb readers can go wild! The packaging is beautifully designed by Starck. It’s a very classy bring-along to any soirée you may be attending.

The Dress…

Choose Ba&sah, Sandro or Kooples.

Because the dresses are feminine, stylish, playful, elegant, powerful, effortless, rock’n roll, quite affordable & fun.

The Lipstick…

The winner is Diorific for its beautiful product design and colour palettes. It looks so neat in your handbag even without a beauty case. It kind’a looks dangerous too.

Here is what Dior says: „Diorific, the legendary accessory for lips with an Haute Couture finish, leads the Grand Bal dance, holding the signature of Dior glamour and elegance in its new extravagant & jewel-like gold case. It contains rich shades with a luminous and long-lasting matte finish, and a unique texture for perfectly outlined and coated lips, offering a captivating and sophisticated look.“ Link.

The Lingerie…

Have you heard of Love Stories Intimates yet? If not, it’s about time. For my Swiss readers; even Globus and Jelmoli stocks the brand now. I discovered it through my friend, wardrobe stylist Emilija Knyzelyte from Vilnius. She brought some pieces to a shoot in Menorca about two years ago. Afterwards, I ordered a bunch of it from Amsterdam. It was quite a huge order. After living in London for so long, I was used to ordering many items in many sizes, try them on at home, and send back what’s not needed. But be aware, this is NOT possible in Switzerland. I wasn’t impressed with the none-refundable Swiss customs charges on ALL items. What did I gain? Experience and tons of beautiful lingerie, that I love and wouldn’t want to give back! But yes, I am happy that Globus and Jelmoli are stocking it now …

Here is the brand story: ‚Once upon a time, in a department store not so far away, a lady wondered around the lingerie department. Gazing over the racks, she realized her options were either sporty spice or tutu-romance. So, in 2013, Love Stories founder and creative director Marloes Hoedeman took a piece of paper and sharpened her pencil to design lingerie that’s as versatile as she knew women to be. The type of lingerie that makes you feel beautiful, minus the discomfort. Sexy but not sex.

With a background in interior design rather than lingerie, Marloes took on this adventure without rules or boundaries. Not to pose as an enfant terrible, but because she simply wasn’t aware of them. Et voilà, Love Stories was born: a lingerie brand that celebrates the bralette as the sexiest, most feminine, most comfortable piece of lingerie in the world. A holiday for your boobs. In fact, the collection doesn’t carry a single underwire bra.

Much-loved for its fashion-approach to lingerie, Love Stories got a warm welcome from boutiques, concepts stores and multi-brand stores worldwide – showcased amongst other fashion brands, rather than the lingerie department. Each collection is a mix & match extravaganza of prints and patterns. After all, lingerie is part of your outfit, the first layer – your mood for the day.“
